Proxies and VPN are different things, you know. First create a tunnel between you and the web sources, while the latter encrypts it. Be it Brightdata or Astro, their functionality seems the same. Except Astro pricing is much more preferable for individuals and small businesses. I've used Astro proxies for a half of year or so for scraping, after a free proxy trial. While It is a high-demanded for traffic procedure, turning off the media and using headless browsers reduces the needs for traffic at times. Yes, they could give more traffic for a test. As well as make more significant discounts for large traffic packages. There is a KYC verification which suits me as a guarantee of legal compliance. Nice thing that remaining MBs do not disappear at the month's end but can be used in the next 30 days. To obtain them I've prolonged the IP. Speaking about Astro as VPN, there's a special feature, Tunneling. It turns any IP into a OpenVPN-encrypted connection suitable for most OS (iOS, mac, Win, etc.). As I have no need of the encryption (standard TLS was enough for me), I haven't used it. But it is a rare example of a one-stop solution for people who need a single platform to use as VPN and a proxy structure. I would reccomend Astro for undemanding web search or business tasks like SEO, sneakerhunt, social media management, comparing marketplaces' prices, dunno. For streaming or online gaming it is better to look for unlimited proxy connection, if there are still any.
Astro Proxy disappointed me during my month-long trial. It was consistently slow, making web browsing frustrating. I encountered frequent error messages that disrupted my online activities. The service's unreliability led me to cancel my subscription after just one month. I'd recommend looking for a more dependable proxy service.
Useful stable tool and service. I like that all settings are in one window, and AstroProxy takes cryptocurrency as payment, which is very convenient. Prices are very low (even for mobile and residential), and they take into account incoming or outgoing traffic. I have not seen this in other services, nice chips. Support is stable, has high uptime, and many countries to choose from. For 3 months now, their proxies have been doing an excellent job with my tasks.
